Hi, I have installed Ubuntu 7.10 iso on my on a desktop system. Works fine. The kids had purchased a lexmark all in one printer\\scanner from Best Buy during the easter break with the understanding from the sales person that this printer would be compatable. The model is 2500 series.
The software package and extra features are windows. The printer works but the scanner portion does not. I am not too familiar with Ubuntu to know what to do to make this work. The printer does show on the printer area.
Any help from the Linux guys would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Duffysnr

The above should answer some questions for you. As far as Linux compatibility is concerned with printers, you should understand that just about any printer can be made to print in raw mode with any OS. Making it print or scan like the brochure is another matter.

That salesperson should be soundly thrashed as Lexmark has a less than admirable track record with Linux <IMHO>.
