When you upgrade to Vista from XP, it creates a windows.old folder..
Is it safe to delete this folder that has the old Xp install files in it..??
I believe I read somewhere you can..

jamie,I wouldn,t delete those files as you did a upgrade and vista uses some of the xp files for the upgrade,if for some reason you have a problem with vista those files from xp may be needed to fix the problem

as long as your Vista installation is running smooth, your installed software has no issues, and no hardware conflicts(devices are working properly) then it is safe to delete this folder.

keep in mind that folder saves old files and information you may want to keep, so be sure to go through the folder and copy files or folders you want.

yea if all your programs are working and your My Documents is the same, delete it. I would keep it in the recycle bin until all your programs and files are
verified working
