The upgrade to WinXP Pro 64bit worth it? Would things run any smoother or load faster?

Only use it if you use your computer for database apps that would benefit to the move to 64 bit and having more than 4GB of memory. Otherwise for now, 32 bit is more than enough for the gamer and average computer user.

Also one thing to note, 64 bit driver support isn't that good compared to 32 bit windows. So you may run into issues where a component isn't supported under 64 bit Windows because the vendor or manufacturer has yet to write a 64 bit driver to utilize it.

Yeah, the whole 64 bit revolution has been a bust so far. Nothing worthwhile for the home user. :(

I wonder if 64 bit is going to go the way of OS-2?
I don't see many hardware manufacturers rushing to do anything about drivers... :rrg:
