COD 4 Help!!

Hi guys. I need some help here! I checked this problems out in forums ect but seems a bit complicated to me. I can no longer play my COD 4 it crashes and I get this message. 1w3mp.exe has stopped working!! This is driving me mad because I LOVE this game and now I can not play it. I updated it with the latest patch ect, did not work. I unistalled it and resintalled it, did not work. Anyone here know about this issue , not sure if its a vista thing or what. Help would be greatly appraciated because I am really liking this game.

Also, it is only for multiplayer, single player works fine....but I rather play other people on multi ...

Okay........this is weird ! I tried it again, it works but then been tryign it off and on now and get the error message back. The only thing left that I can think of is finding the latest drivers for my onboard sound. I my motherboard is in my specs below.

It worked!! I need to have more faith in my abilities in solving problems lol ....working great so far anyways.....guess i can't blame vista for this one! lol

Crap!!!! it dosen't work lol.......Any suggestions that I have not already tried. I certainly don't want to reformat my drive over one game but if thats all thats left to do I guess I will have to!!!

Intresting development. It seems this happens on certain servers ..Some servers are fine. Anyone else here having this problem?

Problem solved once and for all!! Got rid of vista on my desktop and put XP Pro on there and now it works like a charm!!

I'm glad that you got this fixed. I don't know what I'd do without my downtime playing COD4 right now.

lol Rob! Yes I love cod 4, even more then gears of war and I liked that one a lot. That is certainly one advantage to playing COD4 on the PS3! It just works!

Also, I don't know about you Rob but I really like shooting at the Enemies Helicopter when it is airbourne!

Rob, despite having a PS3 myself, I mostly PC game, but not sure , do you have the new additional 4 maps?? They are nice, Creek, Chinatown, and omg can not remeber the other 2 boardroom or something! Chinatown is my fav

Yeah, I bought the booster pack when it came out. The double points were nice that weekend.

I like Chinatown too - but I find it very predictable.

Right now, I think that the Creek is my favorite. I double up my wepons to have a long gun with a scope and a small assult rifle and edge my way through.

Really is a good game. I think I'll go play now for a few minuites :)

heh... I am playing too! I am seriously getting addicted and my back won't thank me so I eventually got to get up and start moving ect and doing streching excerises and think i will go swimming later! Have fun!

No Metal Gear here... I'm waiting for socom to come out before I buy another game. The graphics on the PS3 are so intense and the gameplay so involving that we don't need to run out and buy every new game on the shelf.
