can't get rid of viurs

we have a trojan horse virus called "dialer" on our computer, any way of getting rid of it, we are using AVG anti virus software

it is also on a DVD disc, how do we remove it from the disc ??

Well you don't provide a lot of info.

Still here's what a dialer is:

Dialer
A dialer is a program which tries to connect to an expensive pay-per-minute phone number using the modem. Most dialers work without your awareness or permission
or
A Dialer is a program that typically dials a premium rate phone line, normally with the intent of gaining access to pornographic material.

So it's not a good thing.

If it's Avg that is detecting it,
Boot into safe mode, run avg
It should be able to clean it then.
run an on-line virus scan.
Housecall's ok.

Microsoft's anti-spyware might help as well:

If it's on the disk, every time you run the disk you can re-introduce it.
