I have an Asus P4S533-X Motherboard, with an Intel Celeron 2.6 Ghz CPU, 512 MB of SDR Ram, ATI Radeon AIW 8500DV Graphics card and Windows XP Pro with SP2. The motherboard has 2 DDR Dimm sockets and 2 SDR Dimm sockets and will accommodate up to 2 gig of either memory, but you have to use either DDR or SDR, you can't mix them.
I decided to go with 1 Gig of DDR and uninstalled the 512 of SDR and installed 2 x 512 of DDR. Everything seems to be working fine, with the exception of the TV. I use the Computer for watching TV periodically and since I've installed the DDR RAM, the TV will run for anywhere from 15 minutes to 45-50 minutes and then the computer will restart. I've updated the Bios and the motherboard driver for the AGP slot and the problem still exists.
I've had the memory checked at Canada Computers (where I bought it) and it is fine. They tested it in my computer and there is a conflict with the motherboard. If I can't get it to work properly, I'll return it to Canada Computer and go back to the SDR Ram, but I can't get 2x512mb of the SDR. I currently have 2x256mb of SDR.
Does anyone have any idea why this is occurring and possibly a solution? Also, does anyone have 2x512 Mb of SDR memory they want to sell? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
