Transfer files between computers

I have 2 computers, both winxp sp2. The older one is connected wirelessly, whilst this one is wired. Both are working, connected to the internet, and the wireless one is getting a good signal.

How do i set it up so i can transfer files from my old computer to my new one?

On one of your computers go to Control Panel >Network Connections.
Run the Network Setup Wizzard. It will ask for a floppy to load network settings. Use this floppy in the second computer (or in any number of comps. up to 256) to run the network setup.
Both should show in Network Neighbourhood.
Right click on any file to be transfered and select sharing. Set permissions. Drag and drop.

I ran into some problems after installing sp2 on the old computer. It wouldn't boot, it would just keep restarting. I used the winxp cd and just repaired it - now its fine, i think.

I double-click My Network Places and then the shared folder (of old computer), and it says i don't have permission.

Nevermind. It turns out there was a problem with the channel i was using, therefore causing the error message saying sharing is prohibited/restricted.
