View Full Version : Listening to Web Music in the Kitchen
We have a push button radio mounted under the kitchen cupboards. We have about 4 stations programmed via the pushbuttons. The stations change format from time to time and to get what we want to listen to we now need to access the web. We have a good wireless web signal throughout the house with computers in the office and a PVR in the TV room, all in the basement. What is the best way to make web radio stations available in the kitchen. I really don't want to put a whole computer in the kitchen. What I need is a compact push button web radio. Does such a thing exist? I would not want to pay a monthly fee for this service but some up front cost would be acceptable. We don't have a cell phone.
What if you just run a speaker wire from your computer into the push-button radio mounted in your kitchen?
Will your kitchen radio accept aux connections like this?

Turn your PC into a radio station. ;)

Rob - Thanks for the suggestion but - we are looking for convenience. Going downstairs to change radio stations would not do it.

Oh, now the rules change??
Just kidding. All Users screw-up their specs, sooner or later.
A wireless keyboard, with massive range, would give you access to the PC, but with no monitor you would be "flying blind".

Ok.
So you want to listen to internet radio on your regular FM radio, right?
That's not going to work. There are definatly alternatives though. None of them include tuning in the internet on your FM Radio.
Maybe you're looking for something like this?

Try just the link below and type Internet radio in the search field at the top. http://www.durhamradio.com/
The radio I liked is by Sangean
Rob - The specs on the Revo Mondo look like it would do the job. Unfortunately there is no RCA input on my kitchen radio. However I will take a look at the product at the local Future Shop. I will also check out the best way to provide sound. Thanks.
