I'm looking for a machine that is like a grinder for making Tomato sauce. I watched a good friend and his family make sauce today and they have a near "industrial machine" that removes the skin and seeds. They do multiple bushels. I would have gotten a machine when I was out in Woodbridge but I was told that the store that sells them is closed on Mondays. Any one know of a quality kitchen machine store near Ajax? I have been to Stokes, Hendrix, Home outfitters, Zellers, Canadian Tire etc., and they look at me like I am from another planet.
Thanks,
Neal. (from earth, really)

I looked at that machine at Hendrix in Pickering. Hand crank and you would spend most of your time cleaning the skins out plus I wasn't sure if it would remove the seeds. The one my buddy has is electric and while I was there I think I watched him and his family do three bushels of tomatoes. It would take months with the hand crank but that is the idea. I think his machine also doubles as a sausage stuffer just change the attachments. If worse come to worse I will just head back out to Woodbridge tomorrow. He says that even Canadian Tire sells a selection of them out there.
Thanks Sparky!
Neal.

i just got back from italy with my wife to visit her family there, and helped out with the tomato sauce event. they had 1000 kg of them, took all day and they had to motors going to grind the tomatos down. amazing thing to see. i was told that the hand crank ones are not very good though. i wish i could make that sauce as it was soo yummy!

It is out of this world. My buddy gave me some and everyone at home loved it. That's why I have bushels of tomatoes waiting to be sauced. Just have to find a machine.
