I have a printer hooked up to my linksys home network thru my wireless linksys printserver. IP address is 192.168.1.115 Printer name is Deskjet 882C
How can I print to this network printer in my Mac Mini using Tiger 10.4.2

I've not done this exact thing myself, but open up the printer Setup Utility (/Applications/Utilities), click the Add button, then click the IP printer button. From there, you'll have to figure it out yourself, but it shouldn't be difficult from what I saw (see attachment)
Here's some instructions on using a 722C shared with Windows XP, should be similar with your setup http://iharder.sourceforge.net/macosx/winmacprinter

Yeah, I know. It takes 10 steps in Windows and 2 steps in Mac OS X. Funny enough, I run a Windows network and it's only 3 steps to get printer sharing. Windows automatically downloads the printer driver if available from the machine sharing the printer and installs it.
I share my printer through OS X. click share printer.... done.
:)
on all other macs hooked to the router/network, when you hit print, it automatically lists it in the choices under shared.
would be nice if XP would make it work like that.

Yeah, I do it over a network, where my printer is connected to the USB port of one of my two macs. That's easy as pie. Mviper is doing it over IP, however. So, it might be different. But THAT different??! http://deephousepage.com/smilies/eek2.gif
I don't think so. I did it a long time ago and it was easy as pie. I don't recall the steps.
I only remember the hair pullers.

I understand. So, ARE YOU getting a Windows laptop? Has MacDork done anything to help out? Has he replied to you attempts at communication?? :tte:
that's a strong possibility. Apple is dropping the ball BIG on their portables.
I have to say PC laptops, although ugly and run windows, are a better buy at this time.

And what of my good friend MacDick?
well I emailed several times a couple months ago when the issue had happened (discovered). He said at one point 'bring it in and let's see what can be done with this', when I emailed a couple times back to say when I can come in, no response.
Honestly I don't feel like emailing begging for a response. He's aware of the issue, the thread about these powerbooks failing he has participated in, so he can get back to me anytime.
Beyond that, I did speak to Neil at Carbon, (nice guy), and I am scanning deals on Toshibas, IBMs, and (ulp) Dell.
I have all software mac AND pc.

At least Tim was of the chosen few who could buy from him... My money is not good enough I guess...
Well if he doesn't want your business, why should you go to him? You have money, go spend it where someone will accept it.

And you're better off the way things turned out in my eye.
