When I boot I always get the message ' Run a DLL as an APP has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the incovenience......
This only pops up on booting or Logic Tech medialife. I uninstalled all logictech and re-installed. No difference.
When I get teh details I get ' AppName: rundll32.exe AppVer 5.1 2600.2180
ModName: X10net.dll
Mod Ver 2.0.0.40 Offset.000155b0

C:\Docume~1\User\Locals~1\temp\12cb_appcompat.txt
7cb8_appcompat.txt'
I check temp but couln't find the above 'appcompat.txt'
I found some and removed ...no difference.

If I were to delete or empty this entire temp file what would/could happen to my computer.

This does not seem to effect my computer, just a nuisance. I believe it is the remnants from a virus many months ago.

Thanks

www.ccleaner.com

Its a great free program to clean out temp files and more. Comes highly recommended by many members here.

Other things to consider:

You have something leftover in your prefetch folder frome something which has been removed. (delete the contents of c:\windows\prefetch\

You have some spyware which has been incompletely removed (I see that you are already considerind a virus)

You say that you have uninstalled/re-installed, but if you just uninstall, do you have the same problem?

If you don't have the problem, then points to an installation/compatibility problem, which, if you are lucky may be listed on the company's website.

I have assumed that you read the installation instruction and followed them to the letter, but, I have had installations go wrong in the past (and I have found Logitech's installations more prone to failure than many others!), and that SOMETIMES, once an installation has gone wrong, it will never go right UNTIL all traces of the previous installation have beem removed - and that includes the registry!

It might even be anti-virus or anti-spyware programs which are identifying part of the installation as malware and preventing part of it from loading, hence the report of 'missing' items. I have had Logitech try to load unwanted 'extras' in the past.
