I am looking for software for the trucking industry, to keep track of distance, fuel, total cost per mile etc. Something where I could enter customer name, bill of lading #, starting point/ destination. The commercial apps are designed for large companies and would be way to much for my budget. Any help would be appreciated.

An Excel spreadsheet comes to mind.

Good idea, but how would I go about setting one up ?, I have office 2000 but the templates aren't quite what I am looking for. Are they customizable ?

I make my own.

Difficulty depends on the complexity and the interaction between sheets.

Between Excel and Word for mail/merge you could even do billing I guess. Never tried it.

hmmm, maybe I better read up on how to use it!

I have M$ office Small business tools, which has a financial manager.

I'll play around for a bit, but won't go to far until I find out if my plan will come together :)

Sound move. I build mine like most things in my life, trial and error. :)

Plan what you need out of it, then you can figure what you need to drive it with.

If you need help with it, or want a speadsheet done up, let me know. Excel is a tool of my profession :)
