I have to admit it was beautifully done.

How better way could you restart it.

It is the best one of them all IMO, but I have a continuity issue with the timeline. In Voyager there were "time police" from the 28th Century federation to make sure the timeline was kept correct. Why was this not addressed?
I also thought that Scott and Bones were bordering on parody of the originals. Don't know how fans will like the Uhura/Spock romance.
I do like the fact that Nimoy is still living in this timeline and will be back for the next movie.

The Toronto star gave it 5 stars out of 5.

All I can say is I loved the movie, from beginning to end. It was very satisfying for life long fans, and also a great film for those not familiar with the Star Trek universe.

The Toronto Sun gave it 4 out of 5 (http://www.torontosun.com/entertainment/columnists/jim_slotek/2009/05/08/9390496-sun.html)

Why was this not addressed? This is a reboot of the series, so they're not going to bring in things that we're only mentioned a few times in Voyager and DS9.

I also thought that Scott and Bones were bordering on parody of the originals. Don't know how fans will like the Uhura/Spock romance. This was silly at times.

"Uhura/Spock romance" really freaked me out , but the movie did a great job at being able to create new adventures.

I loved all the Treks (ok "Nem" was bad) looking forward to the dvd and more of Trek !

All that happened was expanding on hints of what happened in the old.
In some cases it was rather bold but in the end what made up the guys and gals we loved is still very much there.

There's a lot of torrents already (cams ) some are not bad judging by the screen shots.

True Sparky, but you can't ruin Trek by watching a cam version.. most illogical. :)

I consider cams to be anything but a DVD rip, but some of the telesyncs are of really good quality and have subs.

There are also some telesyncs too.

Not really.

Its all cam video and audio.

Cropping gives the video away and the audio although very good is clearly not from ts.

The timeline change is the core to the reboot and the time police are a part of this change. Their role is too importanit to be not to be addressed IMO.
To me this is a big plot hole that might be addressed as part of a future story.

The whole Enterprise series involved a Time War where several events were not as history recorded them but were never corrected. With so many time lines it's hard to fit them all together correctly. Not sure if Enterprise fits in with the original time line or is it's own Universe or even with the reboot, which I'm sure it does not.

Star Trek was good. Simon peg made for great comic relief. the review was amusing. ship design will take getting used to (shouldn't the big E go faster than warp 4?)... poor Porthos. lol.
