View Full Version : where to by mac @ good prices
I am a longtime PC user and have now discovered the advantages of the Apple and would like to switch. i know where to get good deals and parts for the PC but know nothing about the apple. Does anyone know where to get APPLE products at "bargain prices". It would be helpful if they are in or around Toronto.

Try buying used- quality used that is.

Most, but not all parts in a mac can be upgraded with off the shelf p.c. parts.
Students/teachers can enjoy a decent price break on new apple machines,

regular buyers do well when new models are coming out, the recent models drop in price.
What are you looking to do with this mac?

There is little wiggle room for Mac retailers on prices. Their profit margins are already razor thin. packages or bundles will of course allow them to spread the lower profit on "a deal" across several margins.
Pop your postal code into Apple's database:

Here is a fairly complete list of Mac retailers:

You could try Carbon Computing and Digital Prototypes. Nick, the owner at Clickon Mac Solutions, can be grumpy -- as can David Helstern at MacDoc. I have spoken with many MANY people who are pissed at his inconsistent response times, with some people NEVER getting a reply back. MacDoc knows his stuff and puts together some nice packages -- and can even pull off a heroic tech problem solution (replacing broken gear temporarily when in a crunch), but his response behavior is extremely undependable.
