Serenity

We saw Serenity today, the big screen continuation of the series Firefly. I don't know if I liked it so much because I'm a Firefly fan or because it was a really good movie but I thought it was great.

yeah its a great movie, but you can tell that the movie seemed kind of rushed. I dont mean rushed as in making the movie, but as the storyline goes. he originally planned all of this movie to be the 2nd season, if there was going to be, but since that was sadly scrapped (thanks to Fox's agenda), he had to fit it all into one movie.

there are some theories I have of future storylines, but I won't discuss them yet, since it would contain spoilers.

It was a major geekfest, like going to a computer show. 3/4 of the folks there fit the classic geek profile.

The music was a big part of the TV shows. I wish they had used the composer from the TV series for the movie.

I think Joss Whedon (sp) wrote and performed the theme music from the series. I missed the series intro music in the movie as well, it's a good theme.

wasn't a geekfest where I was, save maybe just me and one other. had a few that did not fit that profile there. I even overheard one of them, after the movie, saying it was like a cross between star wars and pirates of the caribean. now, I can see how he says that, but with that kind of comment, I doubt he ever watched the tv series, and wonder if he even knew about Firefly.

i saw that opening night, theater was empty lol...i never watched firefly but i though this movie was pretty damn good...way better then i thought it would be.
