Hello Friends,
I am wondering if anyone has encountered these files:
gdql_oc_ochealthmon
qdiagoc_ochealthmom
ship dw20.wxe 12.0.6.6010.5000
Or:
Perflib_Perfdata_6e0
Perflib_Perfdata_814
I googled the first and second and came up with a battery of repair processes to remove the "virus". It just seems to me that I should not have to run 6 or 7 programs to remove this thing. I have used adaware 2007 and SpyBot S&D and a couple of others to no avail.
Any help would be apprciated.

Download and run Avast (http://www.avast.com/) and see what happens.

Or try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button) first. Usually clears out most stuff, then install Avast to stay protected.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is one of my first go tos. It did not touch any of the mentioned problems. I have also tried cCleaner, RegCleaner, and FirstA1Click, nothing seems to want to clear these files.

Yes I did run Avast, still had the problem. If they won't heal the Virus what good is running them?
The problem is the computer I am having a problem with is the household machine:ntb:. My 14 y/o granddaughter and two older sons use the machine. I can usually fix their messes but this one has me stumped.

LOL, indeed:)
I was wondering about using safe mode, I guess it can't hurt to give it a try. Wondering about the last program mentioned Super Anti Spyware maybe I should give that one a try in safe mode. It looked pretty good at a quick glance. Anyone else have any luck with it?
Thanks for all of the ideas:)

Just a thought.... are you using the latest versions of the programs with all the new updates??

Thanks for the reply (as I still have not repaired that machine) but yes, I always do an update before running the programs. It seems to be getting worse as the days go by, just not enough hours in the day.
I ended up doing a complete reinstall on my LT this weekend because I let someone use it. Bad idea! I never let anyone use it, but had a friend in from the UK for three weeks and the Lord only know what she did. After a week I gave up and used my reboot discs on it. Now I am still loading programs, lol.
Anyway, thanks for thinking of me:)

I don't know if this will help anyone for future reference. First I try to do a System Restore. I then use the programs previously mentioned ...Avast, Malwarebytes and Hijack This. If that doesn't solve the issue I do Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up the Processes and look for anything strange. ProcessQuickLink2 is great for letting you know what is what. Locate where the culprit file is and go delete it. Most times it will not allow you to as it will say that it is in use so I use Unlocker. Caution: Make sure you know what you are deleting before doing so. Anyway...hope this helps someone in the future.
Hi Magoo,
The one thing that will solve all your problems is to get Acronis True Image and keep a full backup on an external hard drive. Then if anyone messes up your system you simply pop in your bootable rescue Cd and restore your whole computer to just how it was when you last backed it up.
Acronis is super and you can even keep working on your computer while running a back up right from within your windows OS.
Anyways thats my solution for future refs.

Thanks for the continued ideas folks. I must confess, I have not repaired that machine yet:( I just have not had the time nor energy to put into it.
I know that is bad but I hate wasting my time on something I know someone is going to mess up again.
Someday I hope to battle with it again, I hate letting a darned machine win:(.
Ken
Hi Ken, like I said take all the worry and bother out of it and just get Acronis True Image. It will be the best investment you ever made.

Man! Acronis is your solution for everything, have you ever tried to fix a problem without it, I agree Acronis is great, but man if it's as simple as running an anti-virus program or system restore, why use Acronis ?
Oh yehhh by the way I have no connection to Acronis -- Its just that the program has saved my system and so easily that its unbelievable. Many others on this forum can back this up also.
Hi sparky. Well if you want to play around with other things thats your option but for me with my acronis backup I just hit restore and my whole system is AOK and what can be easier ?????? Sorrry if I'm bothering you by posting my suggestions.

Why use a backup program when there are other solutions, that are a lot faster ? unless your system is complete screwed.
And system restore is hard ?
sorry Sparky and your right. System Restore is the first thing to try.

System Restore is really a piece of cake. System reformat stinks big time. I also try system restore as my first step. It just does not work in all occasions.
I do run Windows Live Onecare and it seems to work well (most of the time) but they do make it a pain to do a restore!
The problem is with a teen in the house I don't care how many antivirus programs you try, you have trouble:(.
Someday, I will call Live Onecare support and go to a date way back when and do a backup. I had hoped I was missing something simple. That is usually what happens, we just overlook the obvious.
Thanks again.

How about Avira Antivir Personal? Some people say it's better then Avast. I haven't tried it yet so I wouldn't know.
