Just getting home from Kiss at the GM Centre. For a bunch of old farts they still put on one heck of show! No politics, no preaching, just straight on fun! Sound was great. Not extremely loud and the mix was awesome. The light show and theatrics were bar none. Special accolades to Eric Singer. He is a very underrated drummer. Mind you, he's no Neil Peart or John Bonham, but he is solid and his drum solo was very good. Paul Stanley started to lose his voice a little near the end but he still has the pipes. Gene Simmons is a great showman and knows how to work a crowd.Tommy Thayer is a very decent guitarist. Bloody hilarious when, during his guitar solo, the first pyrotechnic caused some lights, a bank of 3, to come loose from the rigging. When the third pyrotechnic ignited, the lights came crashing to the stage. Thankfully, he was not in the vicinity of the mishap.
Kiss may not be the greatest technical musicians in the world but they do know how to put on a great show. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was the KISS of life Oshawa needed.
Thousands of music fans and regular folks revelling in the positive vibes turned out to welcome one of the biggest rock bands in the world to a city hungry for good news.
"There's bad news all over the country but this is terrific," beamed Joe Bosco, 76, outside the General Motors Centre where the concert took place Wednesday night.
As the show started, a giant Google map appeared on the screen and zoomed in on Oshawa.
After the second song, guitarist and singer Paul Stanley asked the crowd: "How ya doin', good people of 'shwa? So lemme ask you a question – did you really believe that we weren't coming to see you? No way!"

he's no Neil Peart or John Bonham
Cheers to naming two of best drummers of all time :)
I seen KISS in the 80's at the Gardens, had 20th row floors and I remember everyone charging the stage when they sang "I love it loud" although the one thing about that show I will never forget is when Ted Nuggent (opening act) was wearing this purple, I guess one piece off the shoulder spandex thing and started taking it off !! got a little scared there LOL

it was definatly worth the almost 2 hour wait to see them standing in line at 6:45pm show starting at 7:30 pronptly and not gertting in until 8:00 in the wind and cold and getting frisked coming through the door, wouldn't have been too bad if it was a cute guy but it was a woman. BUT once I got in there it was fantastic. We were in section 103 so we were right beside Tommy Thayer and we were sunburned from the fire. but the show didn't start until 9:17 that sucked us older people should be in bed by that time.
got home around 11:30 and still wide awake at 4:00 ears still ringing and body still vibrating and trying to get Rock And Roll all night out of my head
I have never had a better time in my life.
Paul Stanley said that they were coming back to the
"'Shaw"
I will be first in line to get the tickets again.

it was truely a great concert, despite the fact that it was almost 2 hours late starting. they played for nearly 2 hours, which was nice, should have been more though... and why did Buckcherry not play? would have been nice to have an opening act.

I've never been a Kiss fan, but one of the things that always gets me about these "reunion" concerts is the fact that the "reunioned" band almost never consists of all the original band members.
As far as I'm concerned, (unless they are hard up for $$$) bands such as Kiss, Deep Purple, Zeppelin, Who, Van Halen, Allman Brothers, etc. should just hang it up unless the true original line-up is playing.
That's why it was so nice to see all three original members of Cream perform a true reunion concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
Call me a purist, but hey, that's just me :)

to me Kiss is the costumes and the makeup, doesnt matter whose underneath aslong as they sound and play excellent, which Tommy & Eric do. i am a very recent fan, but have seen footage of bands playing like they just dont care, and i can say that last Wed's KISS concert was an excellent one, 4 of 5 stars all around.

True, because it sure wasn't about their 3-chord rock "music" lol.

True, because it sure wasn't about their 3-chord rock "music" lol.
their music is simple straight forward and quite enjoyable, just not very memorable, meaning I forgot most of the tunes the day after the concert...
that will change however as of last night I ordered the USB wristband with the Oshawa recordings... as with most bands I like, i try to get a live performance of them, either dvd or cd, or other media...
