How man of you have heard an early nineties song, by the artist Edwyn Collins, called, "A Girl Like You"? I admit it may have been before my time, but it was a hit during that period of music. Recently, the now independent artist Edwyn Collins, had decided it was time to share his original materials, which he owns all copyrights of, on his MySpace page. It was shortly after he tried to upload his own written, recorded, and produced works, that MySpace refused to allow him to place it there available for free, claiming that Warner Music owned the copyright to it.More than fifteen years after Mr. Collins release of the above mentioned track, he now owns full copyrights to all his materials, and does his own road shows playing his music, a task he loves to do. When MySpace and other social networking sites came into play within the last few years, he decided he would share some of the previous generations hits with the fans of tomorrow, at no cost to them. Sadly he was denied due to the fact that Warner Music had contacted MySpace claiming they own the rights to his own music.

It wasn't before my time and I remember it. I didn't particularly care for it but it got a lot of air play on CFNY. I hope he sues them.
