Hello,

Does anyone know how to remove this virus?

I am using Vista 64 bit and have tried many softwares to scan the computer but couldn't find this virus.

When I start up my computer and I use IE, the Rogers Online Protection software notifies me that it has found and removed Trojan-Proxy.Win32.Fackemo.v. But it happens everytime I start up and use IE.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Doug

Read up on in this forum (http://forums.techguy.org/malware-removal-hijackthis-logs/858828-trojan-proxy-win32-fackemo-v.html) to see what they say.

I hope this helps.

Formatting always helps clear a viruis instead of installing programs everywhere to get rid of it. Even if you do manage to delete it, it will always haunt you. With errors and bogging the system down.

I have seen that post before and found that the ComboFix does not run on Vista 64.

Thanks

http://www.techmixer.com/kaspersky-rescue-disk-load-kaspersky-antivirus-2009-using-dos/

Download kaspersky Rescue Disk as Bootable DOS Antivirus free program and burn it.

Make sure you internet is plugged into and boot from disc.

Scan drive..noticed sometimes you have to tell it twice to do so but its works well and should remove just about anything.
