So anyone know of a place for cheap registration of .COM domains? I have 3, I wanted to register. Besides the GODADDY deal(which isn't really a deal).

I found www.1and1.com for $5.99

Anything else I should look at? Not looking to host right now, just look the names

Ya, they have the $1.99 deal BUT you have to buy something else, which in the long runs STILL adds upto about $10US

Oh really? they must have changed I know some domains are as cheap (or were) as $8.95 a year US I thought that wasn't to bad.

Ya I was going to do the deal. BUT if you want the $1.99 deal, you HAVE to buy the privacy feature for like $8. So sure the domain is normally like $8 or what ever it is, plus the $8 if you wanted them to hide your personal info. So they make it seem like a deal. Meanwhile 1and1 the $6 is the cost of the domain AND the privacy feature all in one.

Oh I see what you mean thats where they are making their money, off the privacy deal.

I believe with 1and1 you have to host there - therefore the low $5.99US price

www.GoDaddy.com, and www.NetNamesPlus.com (a bit of shameless self-promotion), all at $8.95 per yr (U.S.).

Compared to the old Network Solutions $35/yr US, prices have come way down.

Reading the findprint at 1and1 for $6 no strings. No need to sign up for hosting or anything like that.

If the IT thing doesn't work out, you might be able to resell them as phone sex sites for geek fetishes. ;)
