Hi folks! I am an avowed Ubuntu user, but I just downloaded and installed Open suse 11.2, and it is a very nice OS. Maybe not quite as user friendly as Ubuntu, but once you find your way around in it is is really nice and neat. It seems to have solved all the driver issues, as far as graphics is concerned. This is installed on an old P4, with an old AGP8 card and it works very well. Give it a try you will like it!

You're right, it's quite slick now. However, I still can't wrap my head around YAST though.

Ubuntu Intrepid has been my main OS (where the important stuff is), but I'm about to load up Fedora 12 where Karmic used to be. I haven't like Fedora stuff since 8, but number 12 looks good.

I have a copy of Open Suse that came with a Magazine I purchased. The last time I tried Suse I was disappointed in how difficult it was to do a few things. One problem was how to play a DVD.

Is this version easier to configure for DVD playback as an example?

I haven't tried the playback on a DVD, but it sure plays music on CD's just fine. If you have time you should give this version a try. I have also tried earlier versions and couldn't figure them out, but this one is good so far.

Hey Linuxguru, I found the same issue, but I just removed totem and downloaded VLC and it will play anything you want to throw at it.

The last time I tried Suse even VLC didn't work.
I knew how to fix it but just did not like the necessity of doing so.

I might fire up Suse in Virtualbox and take a look at it.
