This Serious Error message appears on my screen every time I boot up.
There seems to be no way to get rid of it. I have been poking at it for about a month now... And I give up - I don't know what to do.
I think it would be a simple fix if only I had the Internet on that computer, but I don't.

If I click on it I can see what the message is, and one more click will show me the details.

What I was wondering is... Is there a way to copy this Error Report off my WinXP computer (with no internet) , and transfer it across to my WinME computer (which has a modem) and send that up ?
Then the next thing I have to worry about is - if they sent a FIX back down, would it automatically start trying to "fix" my WinME computer , thinking that it was the one that "sent in" the error ???
Or would the Fix come down as an .exe file..... which I could transfer back over to my WinXP computer and run it ?

I wouldn't worry about sending that error to MS.... it's just a bug reporting system... they don't respond to it nor send you any fix...

I don't know why you'd see that error every time you start up... you should only see it once after you have a problem, and that's it :vxd:

Okay DrDan,
I won't bother sending the report.
And in any case I don't see how.

Hello 54spliff,
Hmmm , that Error Reporting screen looks like it might be what I'm looking for.
How do I get that box to come up ?
Do have to download a freeware application, or what ?

Press your Windows Key + Pause or right click on My Computer and select Properties, then go to the Advanced Tab and choose Error Reporting.

Spiff gave you the instructions. When you are in windows, press the windows key and the pause button together. A system properties dialog will pop up and then select the advanced tab. Click the Error Reporting button. Then you will see the screenshot Spliff gave you.

Oh yes Nuke.
You're right I missed that.
Okay I am going to try it right now.

Okay I have made the change and switched off... but when I switched it back on again the warning came back up again.
Although this time it is a bit smaller because now it has omitted the part about sending it to Microsoft...
Here's a picture of the new warning

If you get this at boot,
your going to have to troubleshoot your shut down
download CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp) to clean the temps first though.
XP Shutdown (http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=troubleshoot+xp+shut+down&spell=1)

Hello Andyman,
Thank you for responding... As I recall, you have helped me before, on more than one occasion.
Anyways , - I downloaded that CCleaner program down onto a floppy disk in my A-Drive (it was only 451k)
Then I put it into my WinXP computer and run it.
Frankly , I didn't have much faith or expectations from it... Because it just ran for a few seconds and stopped, and didn't seem to have done anything.
However , after I switched the computer off, and turned it back on again, I am happy to report that the annoying warning message has finally gone.
I'm not sure what it actually did... But it fixed the problem and that's the main thing.
Thanks Andyman.
