Is it just me, or does anyone else find it very, VERY odd that the same day Bush delivers a speech about foiling terrorist plots in the U.S. & the Iraqi connection to the War On Terror - that the Big Apple suddenly gets a supposidly 'credible' warning about a strike on it's subway system by Iraqi Terrorists???

Before he made his speech, his office told all the media outlets that it would contain new & never before revealed information... But this new information wasn't anything I haven't heard 10,000 times before!!

I know that Bush's power base will eat up his circular arguments (as usual), but I don't think he's done much with this speech to get back those Americans drifting towards the anti-war side.

The speech also said something about fighting this war until total victory is achieved... But the trouble is that 1. this is a 'war' of indefinite length; and 2. Unlike fighting another country, there will never be any formal surrenderings or treaties signed to confirm the end of hostilites.

the Bush apologizers will eat this up like all the other BS.

In that same speech, Bush bragged about having successfully thwarted a number of potential Al-Qaida terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. Of course, he can't provide proof of that, just like he couldn't prove there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

But even if he did prevent 5 or even 10 potential attacks, what he fails to realize is that it only takes one to succeed.

I am not a Bush "defender", but if something did happen, as it is daily elsewhere globally, and security was not in place to lessen or prevent, then all the hue and cry would be for not doing anything.

It is like insurance, you hope you never need it but can't do without.

Bush is taking advantage of the lack of terrorists attacks to strengthen his position and PR, but do not fault the US government for "being on guard".

No matter who is in power, in any government, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

If you really want to insult those terrorists, once caught and killed bury them along with a pig, take pictures and send them to their loved ones to show that he finally got a virgin!

The advice for New yorkers to keep their eyes open and go about their normal lives seems a little ridiculous if in fact there is a real threat.

The biggest threat posed on the American people is that of the Bush administration... not so called Iraqi terrorists. If you can't see where this is all going then you're blind.

There are some Americans aware and object to Dubya's policies but there are many that agree with his propaganda and that is the sad thing.
Terroist groups simply add fuel to the fire within. Hell it has gotten to the point where the longest undefended border in the world is now being patrolled for fear of unsuitable entry to that American homeland.

Like, who really wants to live in a state where everything you need costs you big time. All the bragging of how great it is is for not, if you are poor you live on the streets.

Well it isn't much different here but we don't have a leader that is a War monger.

Well, all great things must come to an end... Bush is just making that fact come sooner and faster.

The worst thing right now is the fact that he's a "lame duck" president who doesn't have to stand for re-election, so he probably doesn't give $hit what people think.

I don't think he ever did, he knew the election was in his pocket regardless if people wanted it or not. Guess what? Next election won't be any better, I promise you.
