Just recently installed " Hijack This" and had a problem right of the starting block.

When i tried to activate the Analyze this button, i got the following message.

No Internet Connection available. I tried to follow the instructions to the T , but

perhaps i overlooked something when i installed the program.

Will appreciate any and all HINTS-TIPS-HELP....:zzy:......:tch:

Try to uninstall the program follow by a reboot , then re download it again and reinstall , you might of just got a corrupt file . If it still doesn't work ? Update your anti-virus definitions and afterward scan your computer .

Don't know if this will help but I had a problem d/l HijackThis from TrendMicro, then I discovered I needed two (2) files. They are like below

HijackThis.exe
HijackThisInstaller.exe

It now works for me.

Well I just went to Trend Micro and downloaded v 2.04 with just 1 file, the executable. I guess they changed it. It will scan I tried and a list comes up. Sorry if I confused you, but that's how I d/l the previous one.

Can you connect to web sites via Internet Explorer? If not then check your IE connection settings:

Tools--------->Internet Options---------->Connections Tab------------>Lan Settings Button

For most computers all these boxes should be unchecked. Look at the Proxy Server section in particular, some viruses insert a fake entry here to re-direct all traffic back to your computer (usually to 127.0.0.1). I've noticed some programs rely on IE for information on connection/proxy settings so an erroneous entry here will block them as well.

Do you have a firewall? Maybe it's blocking the program from calling home. I've run into that a couple of times now since installing a new router.
