Well, here is my annual post in seems-to-be hopless search for a gui driven binaries fetching program for Linux.
If you know of a program that ...
- Lists and grabs multi-post binary news attachments
- Supports yENC decoding and on-the-fly post combining
- Is gui driven
- Supports multi-threaded downloads
- Similar to Windows app: NewsBin Pro
... please, do let me know.
Thx.

There was a reader I used to use, but for the LIFE of mine I can't remeber what it is, and I'm not currently at home, so I can't check.

Hi G.

I asked that same question on Easynews support,
these are the links I was given.
Hope one will work for you.

Thanks guys,
I'm using BNR2 right now and find it rather sluggish.
I will give PAN a try as it looks promising from the description and screenies.

Well, 'been using Pan for few days now. I seem to have missed it before due to it being posted as Gnome specific app on FreshMeat and other sites and never visited the homepage. It runs great and does exactly what I need it to do with only one, but very annoying quirk: while shift-selecting (holding shift key and hiting a down/up arrow) multiple files for download, it seems to auto-deselect after releasing an arrow key. CTRL-LeftMouseClick works just right but it's kinda hard to select 100+ files that way. Anyone happen to be using this app and noticed similar issue ?

Sorry G., I was just looking into Linux when I found out about it....never got into using it. :(

Good luck with it. When I do get around to trying it, I'll come knocking on your door again. Hopefully you'll have it all figured out by then. :)
