Hey,

I'm about to install xp pro on new system that has 160gigs of space. Now I want to partition into two parts. I'm no expert but I'm assuming this has its advantage. Anybody care to elaborate?

I plan to do heavy gaming + video editing, so I will be deleting and using that harddrive heavily. What is the best partition parts I can? And should I be installing all my programs on one and the rest on the other. Thx and please excuse my ignorance as I'm not big expert on partitioning and have so far only used one partition.

IMHO .... Put the OS and program installs on one partition, and put any data/files/movies/pics/etc - along with copies of any installed programs - on the 2nd partition.

There's different ways to go, but one would be to keep your os and programs together - maybe 10 - 20 gigs, depending on how many and what size programs you'll have. Then you could use the rest for data and video etc. You could also make a 2nd partition just for data, then a 3rd for video, although with each partition, you lose some space just because you need to leave some slack on each one as working space.
