What is the best way to set up my D-Link wireless router so that it cannot be used by someone else in and around my area? windows xp

Enable your security in the router. Enable Wireless WEP and use 16 or 24 bit. Put in the required number of characters for a encryption code (write it down somewhere and not something too easy to remember).

When logging in via the wireless computer/laptop you will be required to enter this encryption code.
