I wasnt sure where to put this but it has to do alot with trojans. I used firefox to go to a certain site where i can get serial numbers for programs. So since I always have gone there i never had an issue.
Well i went there and then my AVAST virus scanner told me that a virus was present. So a window pops up and instead of asking me to put it into a virus chest it asked to abort connection cause even though avast stopped the malware once i click on abort connection it will cancel it. So i click on abort and it lets me back on the site.
Wasn't firefox suppose to stop trojans cause this has never happened to me with firefox. Internet explorer hasnt stopped trojans but i thought firefox was suppose to.

Yes but why did it block the trojans and now its acting like its IE meaning it actually lets avast load up and say there is a virus.
Is the reason why firefox not blocking the trojan cause of the new avast version? Is it over powering the firefox where before the last version i had firefox would basically let you go on the site unless you accepted the popup then avast would load and say there is a virus. Now it just automatically lets the trojan warning come on.

Well I have yet to get infected by anything via FF. A few months back, I went to a website with ringtones, something wasn't looking right in FF so I loaded up IE. And within a second, my Avast Antivirus started going nuts claiming my machine had a trojan. I was able to stop it from going to far, but I went back via FF and nothing. But in IE it was installed within seconds.

Firefox can't download trojan on it's own. Most likely it's javascript or java applet that's the culprit.

Download or not Firefox is suppose to block the trojan but its letting avast mention its there. Why is firefox even not blocking it?
