I have a problem with my Keyboard. I ran Spybot and it fixed it partly. The problem is with log in windows and number entry. The tempoary solution I am using is the on screen keyboard. Whenever I use a login box, or even typing this note, the problem inserts the number "six" into the address bar instead of the page here. At one point when typing "six five" it put "5lol" in the address bar. After I ran Spybot the problem was corrected in the Gateway login, but still happens in all other places. I ran free online versions of Norton and McAfee. Norton just found cookies, MacAfee said I had a virus in the Autoplay file but wanted me to buy the program to fix it. I am using Microsoft Protection that came with the computer. Maybe its a keyboard logger virus? I dont know. Does anyone have advice on this subject? All my virus protection is up to date. I am using a 2010 Gateway NV54 laptop. Thanks

Personally I suggest using the free version of Avast (www.avast.com (http://www.avast.com)) and run a boot scan. Avast, like many AV programs, will not work well, if at all, if other AV (Norton or McAfee) is installed.
Before this try the free online AV scans:
ESET Online Scanner: http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
Bitdefender Online Scan: http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
Trend Micro Housecall: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

About the only malware program I use anymore to scan an already infected machine is MalwareBytes. Download it (http://malwarebytes.org/) and the manual updates (http://mbam.malwarebytes.org/database/mbam-rules.exe
). Boot into safe mode (keep pressing F8 while your computer is booting, then select safe mode) and install the program, then the database updates. Run a full scan.
It rarely lets me down, and I have to clean computers regularly at work, because I have a lot of laptops in the field that my control over is more limited than in the office. I have become a huge detractor of "jack of all trades" software (antivirus software claiming to be malware protection and vice-versa), because they almost always suck at one (or both). Give me a quality piece of software dedicated to one function any day.

Inspite of the findings through the spyware and virus checks, the problem still exists , The 8 types an 8- the 6 flys to the address bar and the 1 prints and executes the enter key. I've tried multiple online virus and spyware checks. I've ordered a new NV54 Gateway keyboard hoping thats the problem. I'll keep you posted on the results. Thanks for the input folks. :)

Did you exhaust looking at the settings in the Control Panel [Regional Settings]. Look there and make sure the system is using correct settings. That can affect the keyboard.
