I've been using Nero for years. I was never talented enough to use all of it's features, but it's always done what I basically wanted it to do for me. Until now, I was only burning audio files.

Since buying my Canon PowerShot A57 (which I regret), which has movie mode, I've wanted to start making slideshows using image and movie files, for which reason I decided to bite the bullet and buy (online, a confusing experience when it comes to this product) Nero 6 Ultra.

It's clunky, although I'm not terribly competent to judge. Still, How could a 'full' featured set of apps like this not have a basic brightness and contrast control for movie clips? If it's there, I don't see it. Even the Arcsoft (which I don't like) program (Video Impression 2) that came bundled with my digital camera has an easy to locate movie edit window where I can adjust the brightness and contrast.

It looked (from reading my THE BOOK OF NERO 6) like the 'publish' feature in the Arcsoft prog was equivalent to the 'export' feature in Nero, but if it is, the 'export' feature in Nero still doesn't offer me the option of adjusting the brightness and contrast. Meanwhile, While I can use Arcsoft's 'publish' feature to save an edited movie clip to my hard drive, it also (apparently) adds a high-pitched whine to the clip, ruining it. Therefore, I'm still screwed.

I have also been very underwhelmed by the image viewer (PhotoSnap) in Nero 6, which, without my being asked, de-selected my freebie windows picture viewer. At at least my windows picture viewer had a handy 'delete' button attached to it. Meanwhile, The edit features of the image viewer are clunky and confusing.

Thanks in advance. Later...
