Does anyone know where to get a throw away cell phone?

Can you still get them? They used to be easy to pick up on Yonge...

I knew we had "throw-away" just about anything nowadays, but throw-away cell phones?

Learn something new every day :)

They talk about them all the time on Law and Order... lol

Yeah, they used to be around $150 and it gave you 60-100 minutes. It was a piece of junk that you could use again if you wanted too, but most likely you would toss it...

Never really seemed to catch on. Too many bonus phone plans and "Pay-As-You-Go" offerings to compete against.

About 2002 there was a lot of talk about "disposables", a lot of controversy, and in 2003 a few companies tried for IPOs to get the cash required to get launched.

For short term use a "Pay as you go" phone is about the only route to travel.

They all ask for I.D. though, right? I need a pay-as-you go that doesn't require I.D.

Buy a used phone and a sim card from Fido. When you activate online, you have to enter your personal information but you can enter fake info, they don't ID you for prepaid service.

I think the originally came out for travelers and such that would only be in town for a short period of time.

They used to be available on Yonge St., as I said.

I need something that can be called back, so a payphone won't do.
