Every time the computer boots up I get a blue screen with "xmnt2002 program not found - skipping AUTOCHECK" displayed. After a second the computer will continue booting. I believe this mesage is associated with "Linux" and "Partition Magic" both of which is no longer on my computer.
Does anyone know how I can remove the message?
My system is:
Asus P4P800 deluxe mother board
Intel 2.4 CPU
Kingston 3200 - 512mb ram

Download, install and run HiJackThis (http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe)
It creates a LOG file. Copy/paste the contents back here.

Thanks WhitPhil. Looks like an interesting program. I'll try it later tonight when I get home.

Run REGEDIT browse to the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager
If the contents of BootExecute do NOT read "autocheck autochk *"
Note what the contents are.
Then, select BootExecute
Right mouse
Modify
and in the window that opens enter
autocheck autochk *
Ok your way out.
From this thread (http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=439106) where that solution is from, you should find that BootExecute reads
autocheck xmnt2002 /bat="H:\WINDOWS\TEMP\PQ_BATCH.PQB" /win="H:\WINDOWS" /dbg="H:\WINDOWS\TEMP\PQ_DEBUG.TXT" /ver=262144 /prd="PartitionMagic"
autocheck autochk *
This page (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/powerquest.nsf/56d21993ad4e6baa88256e91005066ad/b0316214f90fadd888256e9f00607ba5?OpenDocument&prod=PartitionMagic&ver=8.0&src=sg&pcode=pmagic&svy=&csm=no) gives the same solution.

Wow...... way to go......this is good stuff.......
I checked the Registry as you suggested and it looks as it should. The link is fantastic and will check it out some more. I'm leaning towards re-installing "Bootmagic" as is suggested in your second link. Feel as though the end is in sight and I thank you a bunch.
Will let you know how it turns out. May need to aquire "Bootmagic" if I don't find it laying around.
Later..... and thanks again....

Nice work WhitPhil it worked.
The first link you sent me was informative but a light bulb went off when I looked through the second link.
I re-installed "Partition Magic". When the blue screen appeared, the old error message was replaced with a new error message saying something about completing an action. Before I could respond another message appeared saying something about the action being completed and then the computer promptly continued booting windows. When I re-booted the blue screen never appeared and it was a clean boot.
Thanks a bunch......You are great.... I've had that message popping up for half a year and now its gone.......thanks to you....
Hope I'm not over doing it........ :-)
later........
