We recently put in flooring with this quiet floor underlay from these guys..http://www.quickstyle.com the humidifier leaked last night and flooded the basement. Now when you walk on it it squishes....it's pretty wet.Is there a way I can help clean this up.We haven't put the baseboard down yet...and I'm gonna bring in our dehumidifier to help dry it out. What a mess...I was going to put down the baseboard today. Here I was afraid the washer would leak....but noooo. lol what a pain.
Just never fails...put it down..looks great , then a big leak!
As charlie brown says...auuuugh

Can you pull up the flooring and then run a dehumidifier to dry the underlay? You have a humidifier in your basement? That's got to be a first, usually basements are so damp.

I think I may be able to take up the flooring in the hall and then just put in a strip later...but as for the rest of the floor...theres no way.I slid a few straps of wood under it to lift it up a bit so air can get at it.As for the humidifier...it's on the furnace. We bought this fancy one so it doesnt hold all that yucky stuff the old ones do...but ever since we have had nothing but problems on this $150 piece of crap...the hose for the extra water runs to our laundry sink...but the hose popped off in the middle of the night .So all the extra water ran through the whole basement.

rent a water vac first to get most of the water out. If you leave it and wait
for the dehumidifier to dry it up you may have mold.

I do have a bissel carpet cleaner that Iv'e used before to suck up water leaks...question is how to get underneath it....Even the drywall I just put up is all wet and gross.I think I may have problems with mold now anyway...if it creeps up the drywall.I'm gonna give it a shot and see what happens. Thanks all :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again... If it wasn't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all...
First off, get rid of that crap humidifier... I had one for 1 day here and I took it back... it wastes sooo much water. Even with it cranked down to the smallest trickle I could get it filled a 5 gallon pail in 4 hours
If the drywall is wet, you have a big problem. You'll need to open windows and run lots of fans and a dehumidifier to dry things out as fast as possible.
It would be a good idea to get some moldicide/mildewcide to spray on everything that's been wet. That's what these flood restoration companies do.
Good Luck!

I was thinking of that...a moldicide or something. It's freshly done drywall too.I just put my last coat of primer on last night.I have lights, fans, dehumidifiers all on and the heat cranked too.Hubby shut off the other piece of junk...darn humidifier.Waste of money.
Luck lol what luck hehe.I had reservasions about putting laminate flooring down incase the washer overflowed...but no washer...darn things.I will try a little bleach also to help with the mold thing.
Thanks for the info :)
