I need help with Windows XP error message

I was checking different things on the computer and in the control panel under Administrative Tools, then computer management, services and applications, WMI control which configures and controls the window management instrumentation service, it says failed to connect to local computer because "Win32: the dependency service or group failed to start."

Can anyone help me please? I cannot find the solution in Windows. :rrg:

run the file checker, go to Start / Run' and then type
sfc /scannow
then enter............make sure that you have your XP install disk in the CD drive
