PSGuard removal help

Hi all. On a friends box, he has psguard in the registry under shudderltd. From what I can see, this is malware. It is detected through Ewido Security suite but this program wont remove it, even though it "claims" to be able to do so. I have tried deleting the registry entry but it wont let me...seems locked or something. I have deleted all entries as far as files go and even in safe mode it isn't deletable in the registry. No program I have tried will get rid of it. Is there a fix to this? Please help.

P.S. I have run updates Adaware, Spybot and also Ccleaner with no results.

I had it once and got rid of it but can't remember how.
