Has anyone here lost their lawn or close to it ? Any problems out of the ordinary?

Lost it? No, it's in the same place every day :D
Any problems? Just that there hasn't been any rain and it's going brown... :(

Ours is sure yellow and crunchy and i water it every other day. I would have figured with all the weed and feed fertilizing i do that it should be a little more drought resistant.
Who knew.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

More or less given up this year, until the weather cools down. Our backyard is fine (small and well shaded), but the front is now weedy and 1/2 brown.

First, don't continually use 'weed & feed' unless you have allot of weeds in your lawn. Once you get them down to just a few poping up here and there, just dig them out by hand, or if you have to, spot spray.
Over fertilizing is worse than not feeding it at all. You should never do it more than once every 6 weeks, and not at all during hot dry weather... you'll burn the roots.
You shouldn't have to water every other day. You're probably not giving it enough when you do water it. Frequent light watering causes shallow root growth and will go brown (dormant) very easily.
Watering it once per week; giving it about 1" to 1.5" (depending on soil type) is the best way to build a drought resistant lawn :)

Doctor of all trades :D
i put an underground sprinkler system in mine, water it everyday for about 30mins, nice and green, although the trade off is shallow roots, it look amazing.

From the sounds of it, our lawn mustn't be getting a "deep" enough watering. The neighbour's lawn is dark green( anything compared to ours )and he waters once in a while but for about 2-3 hours at a time!

Ideal root length is with a 3" blade of grass, 1" of water per week will keep it green. Other than that, what DrDan said.:)
tbs, I should water more. :)

Mine is actually green. With our water restrictions, we can only water one day per week and only at certain times. With a deep watering once per week, it's actually staying reasonably green. It seems to help to give it a quick spray first. That moistens the ground, so it will soak up the water - otherwise, the ground's so dry, it has a hard time soaking in. Our condo is using a natural program (long story! ;) ), and of course we don't have a sprinkler system (don't ask!), so of course, that grass is pretty brown. It will be interesting to see how a natural lawn care program fares with no water source.................
