norton found res2E2.tmp but cant delete it so i ran search in windows but cant find it ??? any ideas

Do you have hidden files to show?
Start/Settings/ControlPanel/FolderOptions/View
Check -->> Show hidden files and folders
Uncheck -->> Hide file extensions for known file types

Have you tried safe mode?
