help with ubuntu

i am going to learn ubuntu linux and show my mom and dad how to use it so they don't have any more trouble with viri and spyware and all that. i'm going to run it from a live disk on their pc, but i use a mac and i don't really don't what i am doing. what do i need to know?

Nothing really, run the CD and it's just like booting from a harddrive.

don't forget to make sure that:

if you want to test drive the OS without the need to install (just to have a taste of the Tux distro): make sure that you download the live CD image that is suited for PowerPCs.

if you want to install the OS completely (not recommended if you are planning to replace your Mac OS, but dual-booting is a must, however a 2nd hard drive is needed. Don't know if there are hard drives for Macs): download the install image.
