Does anyone have an issue with Microsoft Anti-Spyware where it updates the latest update and you think once you try to update it again it will just say its already been updated.
Well on this program it keeps updating the same thing over and over again. In my about section of the program it shows the latest update but why in the world does the update keep on doing the same thing over and over again?
I unistalled the program and reinstalled and that doesnt stop it from not updating the same update over and over again.

Well i found on the microsoft newsgroup under anti-spyware alot of people were having this issue and it was fixed my manually getting the signature files and putting them in the right directory.

Has Microsoft released a new signature? I still have the Spyware Definition Version: 5731.

I use it daily and more.
I especially like the "advanced tools"
especially clearing temp files through the "erase tracks" feature where spyware seems to linger.
and the start up and "running programs" display.
Bates team aren't all bad. :)
On another note, I find that my temp files are not emptying even though I have the internet explorer set to delete on exiting the browser.
Any comments?

On the Microsoft Anti-Spyware newsgroup it mentions this solution. I tried it and it works great cause your manually updated the files.
Empty you Temp Internet folder
Then click for update MSAS
Go to the Temp Internet folder
there are now 3 folders, look for the next 3 files in those folders
gcThreatAuditScanData[1].gcz
gcThreatAuditThreatData[1].gcz
gcDeterminationData[1].gcz
Ok change the .gcz annex to .zip
unzip them to the MSAS folder
Say yes to overwrite!
Then click upgrade MSAS
and no more useless upgrades!
