Why wouldLayton introduce a bill for a Feb election when Martin all ready said 30 days after the final Gomery report which would be about the same time??

I believe it is called getting media attention.....when you are an also ran this is important.

It is Layton's way of saving face. He has to. He stated that he wasn't going to support the gov't anymore, because of the NDP principles, but bringing it down now will not benefit anybody but the Liberals and tick off the voters, as it interrupts our most highly festive season. He does not want a Christmas election.

Harper doesn't want an election right now because of the polls, so he isn't knocking Layton's plan.
