Install OS to older HP computer

I want to install either Windows 2000 or XP to a HP P3 computer that is runing Windows ME.

Do I have to worry about Sound Driver or some other HP hardware related problem? Would Win2000 or XP include all the necessary drivers for this computer?

2000 should be ok but I am not sure about XP

For optimum performance it is never a good idea to just use the drivers included in Windows. The drivers included in windows XP are just basic drivers that are to get the computer in a workable condition so that you can get proper drivers that will take full advantage of the components.
