uhhh i can help you out, you need a few things to make a forum

1. google (to search for more help and tools/apps)
2. a web server that supports php and is running a mysql database (google these to find more info)
3. a forum app that you would install - my favourite is phpbb although there are many out there TCM uses vBulletin

step by step -
1. first off get the mysql information from your admin (there are a few flat file text only based forums for those without mysql but they are very slow for alot of users).

2. now that you have ur mysql information get on over to the website of some php forum site (google up vBulletin or phpBB) and follow the instructions they give you... they will most likely be uploading some files to your webserver via ftp and chmoding some files or folders of the forum so they can write information or edit files.

3. once the forum is uploaded and the various files chmodded you should read the readmme or nfo file with ur forum to find out what's next, it's most likely going to some install.php file and putting in settings like admin account and password aswell as your mysql information and so on.

that's pretty much it for getting a forum up and running the rest of the info can be taken from the readme or instruction files of the forum you are installing

Test :vxd: (heheehee). I got a neat form setup from Bravenet. The info goes thru their server and comes to me in an email. Easy to do
