Friend has an issue

A friend of mine has a virus that has taken over her PC I am assuming and causing all sorts of bandwidth to be used up. virus scanners won't seem to work and I am wondering what types to look for to try and manually remove them/it if possible can anyone give me an idea of what to look for names of files etc ?

she lives over an hour away so I have to try and help her from here without actually looking at the pc myself thanks for any help

With that much malware there's just no way to give you file names to look for.

To start have her boot into safe mode and run her own anti-virus , anti-spyware.
