View Full Version : I am fully recharged {got zapped)

ok on the lighter side of things (yes you may laugh at me)

I have been working on some real cheap digital cameras.
the project is a person needs a real cheep video surveillance.
why so cheap its supposed to be stolen (long story)

So I found some cheap 640x480 digital cameras
8 bucks each thats cheap......

ok they are meant to take pictures and be downloaded
from serial cable or output to tv with video out.
so I had to open them up to make the necessary circuit
changes so they go to video mode when powered up.
disable the auto shut down as well.

they have a flash ,,,,,
well I forgot to discharge the flash capacitor it runs at 300v
and ZAP! ouch! that smarts stupid me I should have known better.
also have to replace one cam {they don't last when thrown across a room)

well ok you can laugh now.

LOL wow that must have been quite an experience. I never knew those things had so much power in them. Thanks for sharing. Glad you are alright.

been working on electronics since I was a kid been zapped many times.
the first time was a fork stuck into a wall plug I was 8 then.

yes they can be dangerous in the right conditions even kill.

I am ok just recharged:)

for a real good time, grab a hold of that round wire thingy ma bob on the back of a tv picture tube.
No need for a chest hair wax.

that reminds me when disposable cameras introduced flash...being the curious one I took one apart and when i started in the flash area i got a major jolt and of course the heat .....

found them at XScargo in London on.
they are Agfa ephoto smile real low quality.
but good enough for the task needed.
