Ya Frogy, you and Andy and a few others got it long ago when I posted it. Glad to see it's available again. Now more people can get a copy. Handy to have. I have 2 myself. :)

That'll teach you! Never lend stuff and always put important stuff where you can find it in a safe place. :)

That's why I said it grew leg and walked... I keep all my M$ and Linux disks in one place... it's a box that allows me to flip through them.
Last time I looked it wasn't there... :tch:

I will... and usually do... but since I had 2 of them I didn't... :hsh:
But I do have it slipstreamed into a disk for quick installs... ;)

Don't know. Just order it, it's free. I did hear something about SP3, someone else should know and post about it, I'm mostly a Mac and Linux user. :)

I once had to go to a computer shop cause of my pc screwing up. Basically the guy backed my files onto his hard drive and formated my hard drive and he installed XP Home Service Pack 2. He didnt even need to put Service pack 1 on.
So I dont really think you need service pack 1 and 2 to make service pack 3 working. But maybe someone can speak better about this.

Chances are that it will be a rollup of everything, so that's what M$ usually does... but we won't know for sure until the official release.

Windows operating system service packs are cumulative, meaning that all fixes that came before are incorporated in a single package.

I take it this CD is just SERVICE PACK 2?
Dr.Dan
11-27-2005, 11:30 PM
Yes, it is just SP 2... which includes all updates since XP was released; and up until the time that SP 2 was released... Everything since that time won't be on it.

This website just offers you the direct link to download SP2 from Microsoft.

I posted the link to Windows XP Service Pack 2 (free CD offer), so that individuals may order and have an official CD from Microsoft.
I thought the link was good, it has all the updates straight up and for which operating system, ..... all the links refer back to the update site, ...... the part i liked about the offer when i read it was they encourage you to share the CD with any freinds/family you have .... i find that weird (for microsoft), .... good post, I wasn't aware they had opened it up again.
