Saw this exact trailer at the theatre when I went to see Harry Potter. didnt like the trailer, but I hope the movie will be good, especially with Kevin Spacey in it.

It was on the evening I made the first post. And yes, it's only the teaser. When you're that far away from release, they always start with a teaser. And then probably a little longer teaser during the Superbowl too.

That's always kept secret until close to release, but I can tell you how it usually works. Because "Superman Returns" will be one of the big summer blockbusters, expect the first preview to be premiered as a trailer to a similar movie for a similar audience. Check the theatrical release schedules for Febuary 2006 to April 2006 and see what movie is most likely to feature the first trailer. It's the best guess you can make for now. However, since the trailer premiered during Smallville (and then premiered before Harry Potter), I can suspect a similar scenario next year.
