long story short, im in Europe right now. My cell phone Motorola V400 works here as when i go and look at the Avil Networks I can see them all & on the fido website it says my cell phone works here.
A Day before I left I called Fido said I woul like to enable the Roaming feature so I can use my Cell phone in Europe while im here. The guy on the phone said it would take a max of 3 Biz days to get it setup and working. It has now been 9 or so Biz days and my Cell phone still does not work here in Europe (Portugal) I have e-mailed them 2 times with no reply. I dont really want to call them as it will be Long Distance. Rigth now Cell just says `Emergency only` So right there I know it can connect to the network etc etc.
so I dunno if this would have anything to do with Bell workers being on strike if they have to do anything on their side?
If anybody has any info about this or knows how I can get this resolved quick that would be great.
Thanks

Hmm never tried going through them but i´ll give it a shot,
Thanks
They're still seperate companies even though Fido was bought out. Rogers cannot help, the only help you'll get is from Fido.

It would be cheaper in the long run to get a SIM card their in Portugal then use Fido and get charged BIG time for roaming.
I would I could help you, but it's going to be next to impossible to get someone here to help you out due to 'security' reasons you have to be the one to call or someone that has been added to your account.
How long you going to be there? I can see if I can find a contact that you can deal with via email(hint, i work at the company who bought them)

I e-mailed them either way hopefully they can do something.
I dunno whats up with Fido, before I would get a response in 24hrs or less, fast good support. Now I cant get anything from them after a week 1\2.
Like I said I can see all the networks but cant register on any of them. i have looked on the fido site, looked at the PDF Help file for gettnig ur cell to work in other countries and nothing works.

``Dear Mr. L,
We would like to thank you for visiting our Fido web site, but we sincerely
regret this unusual waiting time.
Our current promotions and the launch of new services are primarily
responsible for many of the calls that our representatives are currently
receiving. As a result, we have also received an increased volume of
e-mails, which explains this delay in responding to your message. We wish to
apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused you.
We are sorry for this misunderstanding, but the activation of the
international services is currently impossible. It will be possible to treat
your request once you will have made 5 other full, consecutive payments
within the conceded delay.
Your questions and comments are of great importance to us.
Sincerely,

Just got this e-mail from Fido. So basically instead of telling me that they could not enable international roaming they wait untill its 20 days into my vacation to let me know. If they had tol me before I could of made other arragments like getting my cell phon unlocked! I dont know why they have some kind of 15 Payments limit or somthing. I could understand for people who dont pay their bills or something but I paid al my bills before the due date in full no problems and now they have a chance to make more $$ from me and they giv me this BS
When I get back to Toronto Im going to call Fido and give them ****, By the time im off the phone with them they are going to give me something for free or some kindo discount.
