My buddy has a laptop which contains a whack of pictures that he can't access.
His system was not working correctly so he reinstalled winxp over the previous installation to try and "fix" things. He did not format the drive with the reinstall of winXP.
When it came time to setup the user account he created a new user name so that he didn't wipe out the previous user name and info.
His laptop is now up and running but he can access the previous user files under the "Documents and Settings" folder even though he can see the folder.
I suggested getting a Linux boot disk that supports NTFS and moving the images but thought I'd see if anyone had some tips before we go that route.
If the windows guys can't help I was hoping the linux guys could redirect me to a Linux disto that would create a bootable CD that would allow us to move the file on the HD.
