I think Walter's comments about the black community was bad enough to warrant a spotlight.

Let's see what was said...
"I have said on a number of occassions that I don't believe members of the black community; relatives neighbors, friends, etc. don't know the identity of the perps in these shootings and the excuse is that they don't feel police can protect them from these gang bangers. At the same time they complain about the relationships with police. You want respect give respect."

This is painting the black community with a very nasty wide brush. Walter is in effect saying that the black community is conspiring to keep secret the identity of known murderers. He is saying the black community doesn't deserve respect, because they don't respect people. There are bad apples in any community, and it is *our* problem to address it. If this isn't what he meant, then before he starts writing opinion pieces in a very sensitive issue that has the potential to be very offensive to others, I suggest he stop, and learn to write and express himself properly before doing so in a public forum. Or, that he retract this what seems to be a very racist comment and explain what he really meant.

There are the majority of the black community who are law abiding peace loving people, who don't deserve to be labeled in Walter's damning little piece. He doesn't seem to understand that it isn't an attack on opinion, but that what he has done is attack a lot of innocent people. As a white person I am sickened by what other white people say and do, and will not stand for this sort of disgusting crap, and I want it stopped now.

His first post was fine, controversial, but fine. His second however, is not acceptable here, or anywhere.

There are a few in that thread that thankfully can look past this sort of thing and make good posts. Thanks Frogy and Bogie.

I think he narrowed it down to relatives neighbors, friends, etc. don't know the identity of the perps in these shootings not the whole community in the second article.
I beleive your interpurtation of " ....he is saying is putting way too much into what you think he is and it is really what you think he is thinking....
just because two people agree with you Tim does not makes what you feel right or validated.

Walter simply reiterated what was said by members of the black community in the articles he posted.

One of the biggest problems on message boards is feuds being carried from board to board, thread to thread. It's frustrating for moderators but even more frustrating for members who just want to read a topic that doesn't contain a bunch of off topic posts, aka, thread crap

I'm closing this thread at this point, not to have the last word because that means nothing to me, but because it's time to end this and start taking one day, and one thread, at a time.
