Okay, fresh start, new board. Lets get the facts down as they are often changing. I am looking at getting a new cell phone, whats the best way to go. Im a student going to university, i have a part time job (low income, ie: CHEAP) also coverage, well im not leaving ontario. so im thinking like a pay as you go kinda deal but i dont want to end up spending too much on the phone itself (im thinking 70 bux tops) i dont need any special features, but i dont mind them. which company should i turn to according to your experinces. Thanks in advance for the suggestions, and if i have not included some facts you need aks away! :)

Way cheapest phone plan I have found so far. Reception is good. Phone is about $100, but you can put $10 on it and you have 120 days to use that up.. Do some research here and I think you will find it the best deal.

Pay As You Go if you are going to use the cell for "meaningful" reasons only.

There might be one around but I haven't seen a decent cell for $70 but why not ask around....there might be someone who has upgrade their phone and you might be able to use and activate their old phone. It might not be fashionable but it allows you to communicate.

I'll second Virgin, reasonable and they use Bell's network so coverage is good. Just make sure that if you find that pay as u go isn't working out for you that you can "upgrade" to a cheap monthly plan

Hey, i decided to go with virgin after listening to the speele the other companies gave i went to future shop and got the cheapest nokia phone... plus it was 20 bux off. total came to 108 with one year manufactures warantie and 25 dollars on the phone

does anyone suggest getting the extend waranty from future shop for 40 dollars extra? it adds and extra year on the phones waranty.

only if it covers you dropping it or spilling something on it, most cell phone issues I've seen are damages caused by carelessness of ther user(including myself). And no warranty will cover it anyways
